Astralyn->Astralynlyn?

I’m just happy Dialyn gets to hang out with Evelyn and her wife in their BiS team. Good for her.

It’s distressing that the popular image of the TERF has created a broadly false association between women (especially queer women) and transphobia, when it should be seen primarily as a movement and bigotry of cishet reactionaries and mostly men at that.
November 26, 2025 at 2:47 PM
Notable that chart doesn’t split cis bi women and men—when you do that iirc, cis bi women have almost identical support numbers to cis lesbians. Bi men drag the overall bi number down. In essence, the two biggest predictors for transphobia are cis manhood and heterosexuality, in that order.

They’re explicitly targeting “feminized” labor. Policymakers backing him (IE the Heritage Foundation) have made it an explicit goal to defund higher ed (especially for women) to raise the birthrates, since higher ed generally correlates with less children, especially for women.

Like the only instances of “telepathy“ that come to mind from the series are Asari, Prothean, Rachni, and Leviathan, all of which are given handwavy science explanations (ie Rachni have some sort of quantum entanglement brain particle thing)
November 25, 2025 at 4:47 PM
I’m not recalling any off the top of my head, having played all the ME games many times. Like I said, there’s a thread of it being a myth that drives bigotry, but I can’t recall anything actual about telepathy being a thing
November 25, 2025 at 4:41 PM
But they don’t ever do telepathy in the story (and in the codex it’s mentioned as a very pernicious myth). Asari melding and Prothean mind/biosign reading are unrelated biological processes, based on the info we’re given. I’m not recalling any times where telepathy is a thing

No state repression needed, only Golshi

This is how you put up effortless Assad number
November 5, 2025 at 1:50 AM
It’s at least implied that they do, yeah. Seems to be the source of Elio’s prophetic abilities. And it also makes sense as endgame due to Honkai’s history (namely Kiana)
November 4, 2025 at 5:37 PM
It's all at least somewhat up in the air, which is fun
November 4, 2025 at 6:23 AM
Mechanically I'd speculate that they wouldn't go for an Abundance Stelle because they seem to have settled (at least for the last couple patches) on making her a solid foundational unit for the patch cycle's core, and Abundance doesn't really fit that role
November 4, 2025 at 6:21 AM
It could also be Remembrance frankly, given what we also know of Fuli’s plans to essentially allow/enable Destruction to create an opening to seed what’s after
November 4, 2025 at 6:19 AM
It seems likely considering 3.6 plot developments positioning Abundance as essentially one of the "4 Horsemen" that Stelle with interact with. At least a year out, though, considering Elation is the 4.x path.

Tbf the initial HDG story was pretty straightforwardly in the “Bad End SciFi Monsterfucking“ camp. That didn’t really disappear until the microgenre took off and morphed into more of a wish fulfillment vehicle

I’ve commented about it before, but the development of the setting is kinda fascinating to me, having seen it since the beginning. It was interesting seeing how a fairly insular set of conventions and internal expectations developed for a niche subgenre in real time.
Very interesting how HDG developed. The original story was just a fairly standard (good bad end) Evil Superior Empire of Plant Mommies enslaves people and destroys their identities. And the best works imo were ones that still engaged with the horror of that (IE In the Shadow of the Independence)
October 29, 2025 at 3:29 PM
On the ”weak cozyslop“ thing, I’m still blown away that In the Shadow of Independence, one of the setting’s best stories that actually engages with and critiques the setting’s implicit horror, is banned from discussion in the setting’s Discord. It’s wild how things morphed from the initial story.

They’re hedge funds with vestigial education arms, and the folks that run them are oriented in kind.

Which leaves aside that winning is the ultimately goal in sports, while implementing your values is the end goal in politics—if you discard your values to win, you‘ve already lost.
September 28, 2025 at 4:54 PM
Endpoint of politics as team sports. If your party is your “Team,” to support no matter what, values are not essential—they’re tactics to be used and discarded. Throwing people under the bus becomes like parking the bus in soccer; it’s unpleasant, but the Team must do unpleasant things to win.

That’s entirely fair, you should always prioritize what makes you feel best. You obviously don’t have to answer, but I’d be curious to know what stuff you’re deleting. There’s a lot of older material of yours that I really appreciate.

I think Gunn and co. did a great job IDing that the “adult” power fantasy of Superman is being able to see evil and injustice that makes your soul cry out, say “NO,” and stop it. To have that power to be moral and kind and do something about it, in a world where we’re so obviously deprived of it.
August 17, 2025 at 7:28 PM
Tbh I think it’s kinda telling in the stuff I’ve commissioned with you, on some levels. Inverting/subverting power dynamics, brave strivers subverted, hypnotized hypnotists, institutional/ingrained mind control settings, etc.
