It is not moderation's job to police the language used by users, so long as they aren't doing anything illegal or being discriminatory.
CP is not a good term, but it is still widely accepted. You will see it in comments all over the internet. It is not fair to get mad at sites for not moderating it.
January 17, 2026 at 12:27 AM
It's not my site. I am a regular user as I have informed you twice now and was stated in the thread you replied to (which contained a screenshot of my profile and called me a user)

The site *is* better than f-list, especially on the technology and privacy side (stuff is actually encrypted!). (...)
January 17, 2026 at 12:25 AM
flist wont get mad at you for saying cp.

additionally, nobody in moderation (which is currently ONE PERSON) has even talked to you *at all*. I don't know where you're getting moderation's opinions here from.

Finally, I highly doubt most people will see someone say 'CP' and think they support CP.
January 17, 2026 at 12:20 AM
I am also going to be fully honest here, and say that I assumed you were not replying in good faith, either. Because I do not see two users disagreeing with someone over terminology as a major site issue. Again, I'm sorry these users upset you, but this has nothing to do with the site...
January 17, 2026 at 12:05 AM
It is completely fine to take issue with the terminology, I just think it's weird to call the *site* bad per the opinions of those two users.

People on all sites use the term CP. We can correct them when we see it, but it does not reflect negatively on the site which the term is used when they do.
January 17, 2026 at 12:03 AM
You are completely valid in finding discomfort in it!

I used the term ragebait as I was running out of characters ngl. I apologize for coming at you like that, however we have had a lot of people slinging accusations like "the site is made by AI" and I'm kind of tired of it you know? (continued)
January 17, 2026 at 12:02 AM
To clarify, I have zero affiliation with the site other than being an active user in chat....
January 16, 2026 at 11:57 PM
Look, I agree with you, I don't like the term either. I'm sorry that chat upset you by using a term that we both dislike.

But I don't think its fair to classify the site as evil over two users disagreeing with you....

Like, how is this a glaring issue with the site?
January 16, 2026 at 11:55 PM
the closest those 2 users came to justifying was this

[1/16/2026, 11:52:24 AM] User 1: Gonna admit I have literally studied security and still don't care about using the CP acronym
[1/16/2026, 11:52:55 AM] User 2: that acronym is just the thing most people recognize

stop ragebaiting.
January 16, 2026 at 11:42 PM
the main focus of chat at the time was about how everyone hated youtuberspeak (unalived and cheese pizza) and that user got mad that two users said they didnt care about them correcting the term to CSAM.

I prefer the term CSAM as well, it's more accurate. But this is a ridiculous post you've made.
January 16, 2026 at 11:38 PM
as someone who was in chat for this, this is a gross exaggeration. People were talking about where the site is hosted / what the site allows and (paraphrasing) someone said "basically anything that isnt illegal (like cp). someone got mad about the term "cp" being used, to which two users said "idc".

I skipped out on going to MAGFest at the gaylord convention center because of this and it makes me so sad... SiIvagunner rave my beloved....
January 12, 2026 at 10:28 AM
Totally. I am sad that I cannot visit my friends in the united states anymore without worrying about my safety :(
January 12, 2026 at 10:24 AM
a bot API has been planned since early alpha, but was considered a feature for beta (and after the break)
January 12, 2026 at 10:23 AM
Yep! All good. It's an often overlooked reason for people like us to care about privacy so much!

In canada, I have less to worry about, but I know friends where if they were public about it.... well......... their government would not take too kindly to it.
January 12, 2026 at 10:18 AM
She doesn't like to say, but I personally don't care.
January 12, 2026 at 10:16 AM
If a rogue employee were to try and out someone, they would have.... their logs from public rooms if they left their own browser in them, the person's profile, and.... that's about it. meanwhile on f-list a rogue employee could leak all of your private dms under their rewrite plan.
January 12, 2026 at 10:15 AM
The privacy is not directed at IRL information, so much as directed at "if our servers get raided or seized nobody can connect you back to your RP"

think LGBTQ+ people in countries that want them dead. All traffic is E2E so they can't spy on them and out them. Same goes for a rogue employee. (ctnd)
January 12, 2026 at 10:14 AM
right, but we can't have privacy if we do care what people talk about in private. It's a necessary sacrifice.

It's like how governments want to backdoor / ban / break E2EE.

Criminals use everything, so we shouldn't infringe the rights and privacy of everyone just over them. IE: flock cameras.
January 12, 2026 at 10:12 AM
just a note, vulture is very blunt with her words.

Moderation exists, people have been moderated already. What she's saying is "as long as it stays in dms between consenting people I don't care" but as soon as it shows in public channels she will moderate you as per the no discrimination rules.
January 12, 2026 at 10:10 AM
yep! there's a button to do it, and it can import your profile and gallery.

since our profiles are a bit fancier, feel free to hit me up on-site in #html-css if you want any help cleaning up the import!
January 12, 2026 at 10:09 AM
so focused on privacy, as people who have dealt with bs moderation before.

secondarily, these topics and such will be met with harsh moderation if happening somewhere not everyone consented, EG a public channel. Much harsher moderation than f-list.
January 12, 2026 at 10:08 AM
Sure, but if they're doing it in private in dms away from you, what do you care? Again- The whole point of the site is to *not* have moderation acting on "I personally dislike this" and to allow consenting adults to do things. We got tired of flist mods overreaching, thats why we are (continued)
January 12, 2026 at 10:07 AM
Block list here is unlimited, at least until it starts to make your browser lag from checking such a big list :p
January 12, 2026 at 10:05 AM
If two adults want to roleplay racism with eachother in their private dms, they should be allowed to. Site moderation should have no say in that. Even as someone who thinks that's gross.

I would also like to point out, site admins are not able to see your dms at all. they are E2E encrypted.
