Did you know? The 'Streamlined' SR Type 13 signal box design first appeared at Surbiton in 1936! I'm not sure when Latchmere box was completed... but it was some time later...

Things were never the same when the class 50s were withdrawn. The 47/7s were a novelty for a while. Then the 159s came. It turns out they did a damn good job- and are still doing it to this day!
But. To me, the 50s were king on the Waterloo Exeter trains.
