HMS Ajax was eventually broken up at Cashmores Ltd., in my hometown of Newport, South Wales, on the banks of the River Usk, just across from where I live. Unfortunately, whilst sailing there, it ran aground at the mouth of the estuary of the river.

One of his 3 Bronze Stars, I believe, was for heroism in rescuing comrades from a swollen river in Dec '44, near the Clervaux area. Had some great nights with them & some Calavados,wish I noted down all of their anecdotes.Good memories.

A chap from my hometown of Newport, S Wales, John Wallace 'Tubby' Liinton VC DSO DSC was HMS Pandora's commander for nearly 3 years, up until the summer of 1941, originally out in the Far East, in Hong Kong, then over to the Med.

Forgot to say, its been delivered, thank you. Cracking book, will enjoyed colouring this in, got to make sure I get the right colours now, do like the little statement of "Drawn by a Human, not AI", well done sir. Might do the C47 in the colours of my great uncles unit, 267 Pegasus Squadron.
