Next week I am headed to #COP30, where @open-society.bsky.social will continue conversations from UNGA and NY Climate Week. Ten years since the historic Paris Climate Agreement, the world is on track to exceed the 1.5°C limit. Just when multilateral cooperation is needed most, it is fraying.

We need a new, just, and equitable international order that creates possibilities for all countries to meet their potential. I was delighted André Corrêa do Lago, Shari Spiegel, and Thani Mohamed-Soilihi joined me to discuss this and more at @glblctzn.bsky.social NOW in Sevilla, Spain before #FfD4.

An unequal planet is an endangered planet and shows how the challenges the world faces are interlinked. These demand new ways of thinking and acting to tackle, as I outlined in a recent speech about the state of the world and how @open-society.bsky.social is helping: osf.to/43zpRGm

I’m delighted to have spent a week in South Africa delivering a series of lectures on the state of the world. Our world is changing fast, and the fight for human rights, equity, and justice has become more difficult – but even more necessary.
