This was kind of a textbook example. It took a report that a real org releases annually. So AI has obviously scraped that report and “seen” the title a lot. Then it just added the word “well-being” to the title & tada! A new report that does not exist, but sounds like it could answer our question 🥴

But this knowledge seems to circulate among the same 5% of folks and never get to anyone else.

This is really depressing. There’s been so much shared about exactly this issue - generative AI is programmed to come up with **plausible** answers. It’s not programmed to search and then say “sorry didnt find anything.”

Otherwise it was a mix of totally made up articles/reports or real reports that did not contain any relevant info to the topic

You just made it to $5000!

(Many sports bras are not stretchy, they’re supposed to compress / have less movement so exercise is more comfortable, so this is more likely than you think)

I’m still concerned because I’m guessing it’s going to be hard to get a fair balance of already published books for a display, but at least we know they’re keeping it in mind

Kind of forgot to explain - ALA is American Library Association
But he also said that the issue was that the phrasing of the signage “in solidarity with Palestine” was the root of the issue, because their display policy per ALA is to direct people to the collection and the resource, not make their own statement with signage 4/

FYI for any curious folks - I got a call back from the library director and have a too long thread for it here:
Hello hello friends, I just got a call back from the HCL director regarding the message I left for him yesterday. Overall, pretty positive results? 1/?
If you’re pro-Palestine and live near the Hennepin County library Ridgedale branch they could use your support. People are celebrating getting that library to take down display related to Palestine. I don’t wanna link to it but here’s a couple screenshots

So that is my long report of a short phone call. Well see when the new display goes up, but overall - he returned my call in a day, the plan overall seems fair for library world, I am cautiously hopeful 11/

I told him I got that, but I was worried about a “both sides equal weight” / Jewish vs Palestinian oversimplification, when there are *multiple* Jewish viewpoints and many are pro-Palestine. He said they’d also gotten that feedback, and there would be multiple perspectives 10/
November 18, 2025 at 11:27 PM
He also said there would be other voices included, that feedback from community members wanted the library to be a place where they could find nuance and multiple perspectives. I asked - so a display with Jewish voices? He said yes 9/
