Colliery spoil heaps here in Notts often with Chrysolina hyperici and sometimes brunsvicensis which had seemingly disappeared from Notts for several decades.

I’ve even seen them in north-west Ireland. One or two in Notts as well this year.

Yes, a tufa like seepage, they’re not on the wet film, took me a while to work that one out but on the dryish material a foot or two away from it.

It is known from Nottinghamshire but I’ve never found it. Unsurprisingly my records are all coastal, Lincs, Norfolk and Dorset. Quite easy to find once you know what their burrow casts look like.
