in the span of 10 minutes a mom at a track meet complained about windmills, “illegals” on Martha’s Vineyard and “fucking white liberal women with Harris Walz sticker on their car” and this is why I can’t talk to parents at sports. I can’t embarrass myself daughter so I’m posting thru it.

Oldest stopped by from college bc he needed to pick up something. I mentioned that our snowblower was broken but sadly he’s too busy to spend the weekend and ride out the storm with us.

I‘ve posted before about how my middle son (18) literal motto is: “Don’t tell your family anything“ so everything I learn about him comes from other people. Sometimes it’s annoying but at this point we generally roll with it bc he likes to be mysterious.

I‘ve finally discovered “All Creatures Great And Small” on PBS Masterpiece and it’s a wonderful escape of anyone finds themselves in need.

I’ve done nothing but doom scroll for the past two days. I don’t think there is any way this country ever changes for the better. Even when *it* happen, the alternative is just as sick and depraved only younger and presumably healthier. None of these people have plans to leave their position

I received a digital picture frame. I’m a youngest child and my husband is an oldest so we uploaded all baby pics up until the year before my youngest was born bc neither of us could resist the temporary torment of a sibling and this is why middle children are who they are.

My oldest comes home from a semester in Dublin tonight. I’m super excited to see him but also super excited that there’s someone else I can legally send to the package store and cross one errand off my list.

I went to the mall today. Yes, the mall is an overstimulating nightmare but sometimes Santa needs to panic buy last minute to make sure everything is even under the tree. That said, I always appreciated the mall Christmas bc it felt like festive frenzy with the decorations and kids seeing Santa.

I recently listened to a podcast called “(christmas past) and I chose the episode about Dean Martin 1968 Christmas special so I watched it on youtube. It was obviously cheesy and sexist (which was basically the commentary but in a respectful “times have changed way”) but I still kind of loved it.

I saw a comment on SM that I will paraphrase: “Providence can mail you an HD quality photo of your car running a red light but can only produce a grainy video of the shooter from behind” and this is honestly so true. Not that I, um, know from personal experience though.
