You're right. Nonetheless I'm a woman of 70 who's shopped late on Green Lanes (which I love) many times and never felt unsafe. I know it's not the same everywhere but there are always plenty of women of all ages out and about alone round there. Fabulous, thriving atmosphere, super friendly people.
