Does Bluesky help?

I'm not giving up. I love the broad mixture of life on here, the good ones, that is. I like being part of the finally unsilent and slightly unhinged majority.

So. Why are YOU on Bluesky?

The majority, probably like me silent for most of their lives were on here screaming for sanity, for humanity and compassion for everyone whilst the world goes nuts. Punching a few pointless blows here and there to people who don't/won't listen whilst we slalom through bots and all that AI slop.

2. It gave me hope. The people on here are the everyman/woman, the sanity, the comedy, the drama forging through turbulant times and keeping each other sane.

Gaining followers both on here and Threads was a two tier solution for me.

1. It allowed me to voice concerns and get backers to push worthy petitions and actions to help stop the rot. After all the more people you get aware, the easier it is to bring action to life.

I have vested interest in both countries as my late wife was a wonderful American and we have family and friends there. I was following Trumps second term with horror and could see the mirror image happening here. I wanted to at least try to affect change for the better.

However, it feels like the battle has only just started. I for one am not going to rest until I see real news coverage and journalism instead of propaganda and incredibly dangerous bias and rhetoric which is designed to split the nation and destroy it's own people.

Also, it is only one propaganda wing of many. There are many more news outlets both on and offline, print and broadcast which need not only thoroughly investigated but also robust new legislative checks and balances in place.

Every post I've seen on the subject I've wanted to like and share.
