Still havn't gotten around to it but my first guess would be that they likely weighed the pros and cons of the added complexity going beyond postive/negative and determined it wasn't worth it. For my research for example I usually only care about the sign of the link not its weight.

Or I guess phrased differently and very hyperbolically -- telling someone who lost their job in 2008 that subprime mortgages were not, in fact, a bubble, will not make them feel any better.

I agree ... but I also think technicalities are an ineffective way of understanding market dynamics. Perhaps what matters most is that 1) people roughly agree what it means 2) it sounds scary, and 3) people think we are in one.

Yeah exactly. I think the fact that market reaction to Nvidia's earnings going up or down could be taken as strong evidence of an AI bubble, is perhaps the strongest evidence of an AI bubble.

we were talking about fruit-on-bottom yogurt cups. So x is like yogurt cup (measured from the bottom I guess) and rho is the fruit density.
