Thanks for looking. The hole is in a Prunus tree in a garden in Norwich, and the web was described "[in] September a medium-sized spider (unidentified species) was occupying the nest entrance and had constructed a diffuse sheet of silk across its lower half"

It is associated with the lime leaf - I don't think I would class it is a parasite as it is associated with decomposing leaves. It is often on the petioles (you can see one spike on that image). However, in this case it was also growing on the gall (unusual, but it is also made of Tilia tissue)

The two main sites for online bird records are BirdTrack and eBird. Unfortunately BirdTrack only allows you to view sightings from the past 14 days, but eBird displays all records and once you pick a site can show you the last time a species was recorded there.
