We gave it our best shot today, just fell short but can’t fault the effort. Hopefully this end of season run of games gives players and more importantly the manager some confidence and momentum to take into next season. Huge summer ahead, we cannot afford to mess up this transfer window.

Just great that we go into the last game with something to play for. The chances of us getting a top 6 are are still small so I am not getting too excited but the main thing for me is that Valerian has given us hope that he is a decent manager and can take us forward next season.

This is an utter shambles, we have gone from a well drilled defensive unit to an utter mess within the space of 3 games. It is astonishing how quickly things have unraveled.
March 15, 2025 at 4:45 PM
Sadly the second half has been a disorganised mess and it was always on the cards that Cardiff would get a second goal, so poor at yeh back to first give the ball away, then not stop the cross and the icing on top of the cake leave their striker unmarked for a relatively easy header.

Shocking start but we have been better today, I can actually see a style of play, looking to play the ball quickly in the attacking phase and use our wide players as much as we can. Dennis a threat whenever he gets the ball. Defensively our defensive shape not the best.

If Valarien has come in and is moving away from that then he will struggle with this group of players, he needs to go back to the back to basic approach and use those strengths of hardworking and organisation that these players are good at, if not he will find like JDT did that results will slide.
March 13, 2025 at 6:39 AM
The issue we have is that we have a bunch of players that lack football intelligence, that is what happens when you shop in the lower end of the market, but they are hardworking, JE realised this so devised what was a simple gameplan, easy to understand and drilled it into our players & it worked.

Abject from Rovers tonight. Valerian said when he came in that he didn’t want to change much this season yet 2 games in we have a new system and players just looked confused and lost. That was as awful as I have seen since pre-Mowbray.
March 12, 2025 at 10:33 PM
Awful from Rovers, poor start and then preceded to pass the ball sideways and backwards, no urgency in the last 15 mins or idea how to breakdown Derby other than aimless punts into the box. Desperately disappointing.
March 8, 2025 at 4:59 PM
Hope I am wrong but over last 3 years I have seen this type of performance many times from Rovers, we will concede a sloppy goal and not be able to find a way back into the game.

Finished Cobra Kai. That is six seasons of pure awesomeness. The arcs of the characters, the homage to the films, bringing back actors from those films, the attention to detail and the fight scenes, all of it perfect. Well done to all involved.

He wouldn’t have been my first choice or even in my top 3, but he will have my full support and hopefully he can do well for us, any kind of new manager bounce will likely get us into the top 6. Main thing for me is that players and management give their all of their remaining games.
February 25, 2025 at 5:21 PM
Ismael new Rovers manager, I work with a Barnsley fan and he obviously thinks Ismael is a great manager, apparently he has a no nonsense approach with players, which didn’t go down with WBA, I think we have a good, hardworking bunch of players at Rovers and maybe they can work well with him.

What a great night of boxing. Bivol v Beterbiev was sensational just like the first fight, Bivol deserved the win and we get to see a third fight!
February 22, 2025 at 11:57 PM
Reality check for Rovers today, have been poor. Need a manager in as soon as possible and the can start to work with the group of players, Lowe/DJ done well but now we need a manager.
February 22, 2025 at 4:32 PM
Well you can rule out Stevie G meeting dumb and dumber in London. He is currently in Doha enjoying the tennis.
February 20, 2025 at 5:53 PM
Aitor Karanka would be an awful choice. His last 2 jobs in the Championship, win percentage of 30% at Forest, even worse 21% at Birmingham, then went to Granada and did last 6 months, earlier this season he was rejected by league 1 Bristol Rovers.
February 19, 2025 at 8:01 PM
The results that Lowe and co have got is great but if you are not going to appoint them then get the new manager in, hopefully it is sorted over the weekend so that the new manager has a clear week to work with players.
February 19, 2025 at 5:58 PM
Still no new manager. I am all for taking your time but it is clear they had no succession plan and even though it has been clear that JE would leave, there was no planning done. This was the ideal week as it was a clear week to get the new manager in and give time to work with the players.
February 19, 2025 at 5:55 PM
Led to believe that Boateng has not been interviewed to be next Rovers manager, there some speculation that they want him in as part of the any new backroom team, presumably as they see some potential as being a manager in the future. Let’s see what the next couple of days bring.
February 17, 2025 at 11:53 AM
What does bemuse me is that Eustace now when we have bought in what he said he wanted experience (forshaw), defensive reinforcements (Sanderson and Rubiero) and pace up front (Kargbo and Dennis). The squad has more depth and you would think he would have used all of it so well.
February 15, 2025 at 5:30 PM
Don’t often say this about championship refs but the ref today has been excellent.
February 15, 2025 at 4:50 PM
Poor first half against a very resolute Plymouth. I really wish Cantwell in these type of game would come deeper and control the game, he has the ability to do so but just doesn’t do it enough. Need to be careful as Plymouth look dangerous on the break.
