A real traitor unmasked but not on a tv show. Reform UK’s former leader in Wales, Nathan Gill, has today been jailed at the Old Bailey for ten and a half years for taking bribes to make statements in favour of Russia when he was an MEP.

To the Long Room at Lords for three days of cricket tomorrow. Having to dress formally for a change. Now where did I put that tie.

Like so many people I abandoned X/Twitter last year. I thought Bluesky might be a good alternative. It either isn't or I am doing it all wrong!

Roman roads. Built to last and many of them were being used 1000 years plus after they were built. Wonder how long the M25 will be with us!

It is 40 years since Garry Trudeau first drew the Doonesbury strip that is syndicated to almost 1,400 newspapers across the world. I hope Donald liked this one in todays Guardian.

There’s an irony to the fact that St George’s Day is supposed to be a day to celebrate Englishness. Today we are a multicultural place and many different cultural groups have been assimilated into what we call an “English" nation. So, in some sense, he is a pretty good patron saint!

Born in April 1564. The exact date of his birth is not recorded, but his life is most often celebrated around the world today as we know for certain that he died on the 23 April 1616.

I have heard good things about this film and in particular the performance of Juliette Binoche. I will find out tomorrow whether the praise is well deserved.

Something to aspire to. I photgraphed these log piles in the splendid town of Assenova Mahala back in 2017 while seeking out their four noteworthy churches.

It has been a lot of years. Probably a nice breeze along the corniche today. Just the place to stroll after a fish lunch and before chocolate cake and coffee at one of the best cake shops in the world.

Le Pen has spent her career attacking immigrants and stirring up culture war divisions. She has now been found guilty of illegally using EU funds to fund her own political party. The irony of Le Pen benefitting from an institution she’s railed against for years is hopefully not lost on anyone.

Spare a thought for National Trust staff and volunteers as they prepare to work tirelessly on Saturday night to move stones forward one hour at various stone circles in Britain.

Tory and Reform MP's were born to be cruel. What on earth has happened to our Labour MP's?

Anne on the throne of Attila (Torcello) if the story is true. March 2024.

A year ago. Trieste was bitterly cold. Anne was contemplating a very good lunch and is not as fed up as she looks. She was just waiting patiently for the cafe to open.
