EU should be dealing with Putin. Why is that a bad thing? I'm not saying USA should pull out of NATO but why is it so awful that European countries have to build stronger defense on their own? It is clear the USA isn't a reliable ally anymore.

Some countries in Europe still buy oil and LNG from Russia. Some countries refuse to divest interest in Isreal. Many countries have sent a lot of their manufacturing to China. Some still can't believe how bad things are in the USA with trump, others support him. It's complicated.

They haven't. They still think they can play nice with the USA about Ukraine. They claim it takes time to build new alliances, USA runs NATO so they have to tread carefully blah blah blah, meanwhile China and Canada aren't wasting any time making new deals both politically and financially.
