When a headline includes “scientists say” the implication to the reader is that a majority or authoritative plurality of scientists believe the headline to be true. That it could *technically* refer to some random assholes, does not change the fact that it is a misleading/disingenuous headline

I feel like in this case it would just be like being on a perpetual camping trip, probably unpleasant eventually, particularly if you get sick or injured, but it’s not like you’d immediately die from having to shit in a hole or cook your food over a fire

honestly I think a reasonably intelligent/competent person could keep a low profile and get by anytime post-renaissance, provided you speak something close enough to the local language. At the very least, having gone to high school means you could probably find work as a tutor or an accountant

I mean, obviously I support the abolition of the death penalty. And yeah that‘s what I mean by review; if after 20 years they somehow haven’t reformed, then they probably *should* spend the rest of their lives in confinement, but the Bundys/Mansons are a tiny tiny fraction of the prison population
