Mostly harmless random stupid stuff (citation: my wife). Confusing relatives, coworkers, spouse, and cat for decades. Probably at the movies as you read this. He/him.
Seeing "Evils of the Night" (1985) at Cinema 11 in Baton Rouge with three friends. It turned out we were the entire audience and were not impressed with the film and started quietly, then loudly, heckling it. If any of you meet Terry Levene from Aquarius Releasing, tell him he owes me five bucks.

After listening to a bit, it definitely blew...

Yeah, there are times when I need an editor badly...

Now that I've listened a bit (thanks a lot, by the way), it sounds like the voice should have left to make a better living at $3.95 a minute at a 1-900 number...

Either that or it should be accompanied by bongo drums.

I'll admit it was kind of rushed. I'll think about it harder...

That may have been the plan, but then the AI system quit in a huff and took a gig as the drive-through speaker at a Long John Silver's in Mechanicsburg, PA, and she ended up having to do it herself.

I'm going with "all of the above and lots of the below".

Didn't hurt that it was a 20 minute drive from Konrad Adenauer's house...

Looking forward to the DEFA Fairy Tales (Märchenfilme) set, which may end up being my next #DEFAcember series. (But not actually in December.)

Is their position standing next to a picture of Nixon a political statement or random dopiness?
December 11, 2025 at 5:54 AM
Does that make him a doork? (I know, I know. I'll show myself out.)
December 11, 2025 at 5:04 AM
Well, development director's offices can be spooky, and you do work with grant writing, so you were well prepared!
December 10, 2025 at 10:13 PM
Hey, it's possible that God Told Him To...

(See, "God Told Me To" (1976) was directed by the same person who directed "The Stuff" (1985), and...you're giving me that look that my wife gives me whenever I try to overexplain stuff like this, aren't you? It's fine...)

Other departments planning switches include Treasury (to Old English), Education (to Comic Sans), and HHS (to Zapf Dingbats).

Joel Garreau's "The Nine Nations of North America". (Could also go with @colinwoodard.bsky.social 's "American Nations," but I'd likely go with the one that started me along...)

I'll trust you and block that dummkopf...

Perhaps she could try "Prosperity is just around the corner," as a previous President said?

(Make sure not to tell her which one!)

-Congratulations to Bishop Mario Avilés on his appointment as Bishop of Corpus Christi. (He was previously an auxiliary bishop for Brownsville but I missed adding him earlier.) With these changes, the number of active bishops in the US Council of Catholic Bishops remains at 250.

I'm not sure most Trump administration officials could handle easier shows like "Name That Fish" or "Hit The Buzzer, Win A Cookie"...

Not saying it's good, mind you, but it is the only film in Anamorphic DuoVision! youtu.be/YfAsKZCJ7_g?...

It was also featured in "Wicked, Wicked" (1973), but the hotel doesn't include that one on its resume...
