Not necessarily disagreeing but I just don’t think the judges panel for TGA is equipped to handle those more specific conversation. It largely feels like a popularity contest, and would probably still be so even with more categories

You are way too online, I would suggest logging off and enjoying some games. It is not that serious, it is like a couple thousand people max that are upset with Prime 4, it is certainly not worth this level of ranting. We'll see in a few weeks/months how well Prime 4 sold, and it'll probably be good

"Nintendo keeps Metroid around for clout" is a hilarious line of reasoning to me. People have really gotta learn that online internet discourse is not important to major companies. Dread sold 3 million and it wasn't a game that people had been waiting for for 8 years, Prime 4 will sell just fine

If we go by the highest selling Metroid game of Dread at 3mil sales then 100k of that is 3%. That is not significant to Nintendo. And 100k is an extremely generous number in this case, it's like a couple thousand people max across different social media sites that are calling Prime 4 awful

Online discourse just does not matter to large companies. It is a fraction of a fraction of the actual consumer base.

"Divisive response", it's got an 80 on metacritic right now. That's hardly "divisive". And I'd also be very surprised if it doesn't become the highest selling Prime game just due to the sheer volume of Switch consoles out there

Adding a crystal gauge to the menu itself was the clearest sign of “hey, this’ll be the artifact hunt of this game” so I immediately knew to chip away at it over time

But that is extremely not the norm, and especially not with Atlus re-releases. Vengeance was 3 years after SMT V, Royal was 3 years after P5, Golden was 4 years after P4, etc.

There's a smugness with Metaphor, which plenty thought would get a GOTY edition but here we are. Even if it gets something later, what, you want a medal for waiting three extra years to play something good? Congrats I guess?

They really should have just saved the ability till post-game. Or at least make it difficult to get like in FFX. But also, a lot of act 3 bosses have real annoying combo strings so I was kinda glad to just steamroll them in a few turns.

I think people are extremely overreacting, but I kinda expect that from the Metroid fandom at this point. If Myles appeared in any other footage anywhere I’d be a little concerned, but as it looks now he’s probably gone by the end of the opening

It’s very strange seeing the doomerism come out from the Metroid fandom when the previews sound like Prime 4 has basically the same opening structure that Prime 3 already did. And if it’s anything close to that game then the focus on the federation will take up like 5% of the overall game

Oh, gotcha. Well the gabecube is just basically a small PC running SteamOS so I don't even know how they would make it exclusive to just that machine
