Note that crude isn't entirely fungible. Refineries are tuned to specific blends of oil and have shipping constraints.

Midwest refineries are tuned for Canadian heavy crude which largely arrives by pipeline. Can't easily replace it from another source.

But costly oil is still better than no oil.

That's true but the problem isn't really how clearly the law is defined. The problem is there are 6 justices on the Supreme Court willing to delay the ruling until after the primaries and invent a justification whole cloth as they did with presidential immunity.

Some of the biggest advances like AlphaFold are still generative AI. Research into LLMs isn't really separate from the cool and "acceptable" uses of AI.

First you start with Musk's overstated promise that price per kg to orbit will be cheap. Then you base solar panel costs on cheaper terrestrial solar panels that aren't radiation hardened. Finally you factor in an efficient radiator that doesn't exist because you haven't designed it yet.
