Personally, it's not games happening with no notice; its life happening & limited time. And generally I just hate doing extensive prep. The appeal of no prep is that a game should run smoothly without my needing to do game-homework that may not come up in session because of player choices, etc.

I get this is an overly simplified take. Folks can't be expected to put themselves out into situations where they'd be in danger, and I'm being a huge hypocrye as someone who rarely leaves home and has amost 0 social connections; But that's part of why its so needed.

Somone in my online rpg group has discord set to play a goose honk when they join a call, and announce themselves by saying "the goose is loose" every single session... I can only imagine it's a similar energy.

Ah! I own these! Just under a year ago I ordered a bunch of their 6mm astronauts and moon base terrain. Really great stuf.... that I haven't painted yet 😅
