Important new feature in Amsterdam, since I last visited (and lived here): Memorials where holocaust victims lived. They also make me think how appropriate it'd be if 'missing' signs were posted in the US, where people have been abducted by unidentified masked goons, along with their stories.

I'm angry about how far the social safety net has slipped in Australia, but I still see far fewer unhoused people in Aus than the US. This is the 1st time I've seen someone sleeping rough since I got here, and I can't help noticing they're outside the most American-branded shop I've seen here.
