A LinkedIn profile essentially indicates current role and how long you've been at a company. Someone who has worked at a company for any length of time is likely to have had several different roles, the details of which no one really cares about. I wouldn't rely on a LinkedIn profile as definitive

I don’t think that is an unusual way to handle a LinkedIn profile. I don’t describe internal role changes in my LinkedIn profile and have zero expectation that others do.

Asking for a friend. Does the article mention COVID?
