Avoiding null check with defaultdict(), directly iterating char in string, shorthand for loop with range(), ascii value with ord(), keys with tuples, lambdas etc etc... tools needed are just super handy out of the box.

As a Labour supporter, I'm highly disappointed on Starmer's stance. Civil rights and freedoms are the basis of a democratic society.
