What we are witnessing is an outright abuse of power.

For context, my 1st faire was Sherwood Forest, just outside of Austin. The only other faires I've been to is TRF in Houston and one in CO. CO had camping-but not part of the faire, but in a national park nearby-but it was advertised. Looking into TN faires, PA, and NC-none seem to offer camping.
Being back on the East Coast and looking up ren faires-I'm learning that camping experience is almost a solely a TX thing and most ren faires don't have that same culture unless you're part of the cast. I do think other faires should offer this, especially if I'm travelling 4+ hours to attend.
