Detached eclipsing binary #stars really do make for satisfying plots. I combined radial velocities from two different 🔭datasets (one about 10x less precise than the other) and fitted them with a simple ellc model and it just ✨ works ✨

The accommodation I’m staying at during my current research visit has a CRT television. Somewhat fittingly, the clock on the wall has stopped ticking.

I’ve spent all day so far waiting to “correct the formal deficiencies” in my temporary residence permit application. There’s nowhere to work here, and you can’t really leave, so I’ve been tracking the ticket number called with time to predict roughly when I should be called… I’m #116, so maybe soon…
