For BG3? There's a bunch of items that extend the crit range, but I don't know them by heart. A splash of Champion to get the 19-20 crit range would probably be good. I have played the game extensively, but haven't managed to complete honor mode yet - trying to on stream actually!

BG3 is a lot of fun, I hope you enjoy it!
I'm also sure that at least a one-shot will appear in which you can get a taste for the real deal, the gods of scheduling are cruel but they do on occasion smile upon us!

I'm pretty sure he might actually be jealous if he didn't thing she was extra mean to/disappointed in him.
