What gets regarded as a highly different and old-school sexual system is in fact still largely the foundation of our modern one, that the degree of minoritization through sexuality is still largely dependent on your place in the gender system.

The sin here would be being too much like a woman!

This was the exact sexual system in the US even a hundred years ago. Having sex with "biological males" didn't minoritize you at all as long as you were the masculine—and therefore typically dominant, penetrating—partner.

This is also why I reject defining the political core of "queerness" as "same-sex activity."

That political core is actually deviation from the standardized male-female system, with its accompanying sexual ecosystem.
