Please sign the open letter to Keir Starmer and the national broadcasters calling for a televised emergency briefing.

People have the right to know about the serious threats facing this country, and that we could be doing so much more.

I love @profdevisridhar.bsky.social proposal for a Dame Michelle Mone Law to protect taxpayers’ money when the next pandemic strikes.

I do hope that the inquiry considers it.

2025 in the sixth richest country in the world.

#childpoverty
As things stand, child poverty is on track to reach record highs by 2029-30.

By then, we predict that more than one-in-three British children (34 per cent) would be growing up in poverty.

That's the highest rate of child poverty we'd have seen since 1961 ⤵️ buff.ly/qVc9CWs

The value of Fuel Duty is now at historic lows, having fallen by 23p per litre (or a third) in real terms over the past decade.

It would cost £5 billion *per year* to continue the freeze by the end of the decade.

Instead, smaller quarterly increases should be introduced.

For years, there's been a massive over-emphasis on food miles, and a massive under-emphasis on food type.
By far and away the best dietary decision you can make, for environmental, humanitarian and public health purposes, is to cut out animal products.

I'm currently reading Nomad Century by @wanderinggaia.bsky.social so it was perfect timing to hear today's interview by Amol Rajan on BBC Radio 4.

It's refreshing to hear honest, realistic, positive discussion about both #climatechange & #migration.

We make 300 million tonnes of plastic per year. More than the total weight of humanity.

There are already more Lego people than real people.

Can we now play with the toys we already have?
