As a Jerseyite (Bloomfield) and an American, I was deeply disappointed by your answers on #AskTheGov suggesting you may not sign the Immigrant Protection Package. You said signing these bills would just be a “feel good moment” that wouldn’t change much and hinted

Even with the beautiful wins, we can and need to do better about making NJ better for all communities, especially those left out of opportunities, and under attack from a regime hell bent on hurting humans. We need immigrant trust act bills signed ASAP at the very least. #immigrantsmakenj

Affordability crisis is real. And under @govmurphy.bsky.social, NJ is stronger. Under this admin, we raised the min wage, expanded paid fam leave, reduced incarceration, expanded EITC, created child tax credit, & enacted progressive taxes like millionaires, mansion, & corporate transit fee, & more!

Murphy references his own parents, as he has done before -- a bartender and part-time secretary trying to make ends meet.

And for working-class New Jerseyans he has largely followed through: raising the minimum wage, expanding paid family and sick leave, and creating the Child Tax Credit

Despite being one of the wealthiest states, 1 in 8 New Jersey children live in poverty. However, New Jersey has the resources to dramatically cut child poverty through direct cash assistance to families.

Three New Jersey congressmen just voted to deepen inequality and hurt their own constituents — with no evidence this bill will help anyone, except to make the wealthy even wealthier.

This bill is cruel. This vote is cowardly. And it shows exactly who they’re really fighting for.
The House's cruel budget eliminates vital programs for people around the country and blows an even bigger hole in the state’s budget that lawmakers failed to adequately prepare for.

“This is not just about money — it’s about consequences," said @nicolenjpp.bsky.social. www.njpp.org/media/statem...

When we talk about affordability, it's important to ask: affordable for who?

At a time when so many are struggling to make ends meet, we should not be spending our limited resources on programs like StayNJ that disproportionately benefit the wealthy.
