I read that when picking a wound consider how that will change through the trilogy. It can't be dealt with by book 1 so it will need to heal in parts throughout each book.

I agree. I think Thirteenth will always be my favorite, probably because I read it first. It made me love Ricky even more because he's more more likeable later in the series. I also found The Crows to be the creepiest.

I've heard good things about the Last Bookstore in LA and Stories looks very cute. You can never beat a bookstore/coffee shop.

I've mainly stayed in Fort Bragg. But the beaches are amazing and there is so much aquatic life to see. The botanical garden has a huge variety and the skunk train is very fun. My husband and I went horseback riding on the beach as well. Very beautiful.

If you do end up going to Barts Ojai has fun hiking trails that overlook the Orange groves and you're only 20 minutes from the beach.
