I'm curious. How does the hive mind think this can be re-notated in a way which is "better" (as judged by me). No prizes. Correct answers only.

The other day I finished recording #betsyjolas 's solo piano music: 13 pieces written over the space of half a century. It forms part of a 2CD-set along with @AnssiKarttunen 's wonderful recordings of her solo cello works, and 4 duos for us both. Watch this space.

Someone asked me which recording of the Emperor Concerto is my favourite. There won’t be a single answer of course. So far I’ve managed to listen to all of Pollini’s that I have (6). And Gieseking/Walter and Lamond/Goosens. Next up Freire/Chailly.

Retrospective: this was a very good evening, and I loved playing Op. 11 again after some years. Congratulations to the organisers, performers (teachers and students) and speakers - also to the audience, who stayed solid for what was a substantial programme.

So my wife just called the school to say our daughter is sick and can’t come today. She started the call with guten Abend, laughed then corrected herself to guten Morgen. So I made them listen to this at breakfast.
