Ich glaube da wird oft von abgewichen (gerade bei franz. Fremdwörtern). Aber eigentlich ist das schon Usus, gerade bei unüblichen Wörtern. Der Front National, die Piazza, das Corpus Delicti. Gerade beim Lateinischen hab ich das noch nie anderes gelesen.

Basic cultural bias. If you grow up in a stable political system, get your education in that system, through educators that were shaped by the same system it's hard to believe in a world where parties right of the CDU/CSU can exist.

That's also true for most PolSci research that treats the US as the normative benchmark to test everything against. Hard to read US cases as representative if your research object is a massive post-industrial authoritarian oligarchy.

Ist eh Quatsch. Das ist ne Diss mit 4 Zitationen nach fast einem Vierteljahrhundert. Die Uni hat ja auch mehrfach bestätigt, dass das in Summe sauber war.
Ich glaub, diese ganzen Plagiatsjäger sprechen ein Publikum an das gar keine Ahnung von wissenschaftlichen Gepflogenheiten hat.

Ja, absolut. Wenn man aber keine Zeit/Muße/Mittel hat um den alten Schinken bei Abebooks zu kaufen, dann schreiben Leute das halt hin und vertrauen auf die korrekte Zitation in der Sekundärlit. Das ist faul und unschön, aber ehe Doktoreltern das "(nach Müller)" kritisieren, macht man das vielleicht.

Das ist aber selbst nach Webers Definition kein Plagiat. Dieses umfasst zwingend eine Aneignung von geistigem Kapital Dritter.
Sekundärliteratur lesen und die Primärquelle zitieren ist natürlich keine gute wissenschaftliche Praxis (mMn auch Täuschung), aber man gibt damit nichts als Eigenes aus.

Is semiotics actually a thing that polsci students learn in their curriculum (in Germany)? As far as I know this only happens in linguistics.
