With the prompts dropping tonight for NYCMidnight’s #ScreenwritingChallenge, it feels liie a good time to reshare the 1st page (& a bit) from my short, Salty, which was born from the 1st rd of this contest a few years ago. It’s evolved since, but still one of my faves!

This quote is incredible. “You’re fighting like you’re the third monkey trying to get on the ark, and it’s starting to rain.”

Highly applicable to life in general.

Like life, sunsets can be be unreliable and unpredictable, so when they shine, it’s unbelievable.

Now is a great time to recommend the Canadian Curling comedy, MEN WITH BROOMS.

I have yet to meet anyone on the socials who’s seen it, and honestly folks, it shows. Really missing out on this slice of pure Canadiana.

For this #FunPageFriday, I’m posting two pages from my current WIP, “The Proving Grounds,” a noirish comedy drama set in 1959 Las Vegas.

For me it’s two movies. Neighbours, which made me realize how much I loved physical comedy (the airbag scenes absolutely send me). The second is Game Night for two particular scenes: The “searching for the bullet in his arm” scene, and the “grunt in the turbine” scene.

Hey, #Scriptsky, anyone up for a script-swap? I'd love to get a couple more sets of eyes and feedback on my noir-ish dramedy, and have room to do the same back atcha! The logline is in the next skeet in this thread!

109 pages. R-rating for violence, death, blood and coarse language.

Another day, another firey sunset. The lake is gone, but the fog has shown up to watch the sky show off.

If you ignore the lake of water in the field, seeing this sunset you wouldn’t even know it rained like a sonofagun allll day. The clouds parted at the most convenient of times.

Hey, #Scriptsky, if you messaged me requesting my FREE POSTER DESIGN ART DIRECTION on a poster like this incredibly horned up design by Netflix here, I’d say “No notes.”

My 1st new entry for #FirstPageFriday in ages from my latest WIP. It’s been a hoppin ride for this lil story. 6 years in the making. I’m on cloud nine after finishing the latest draft, but time will tell if it’s still the bee’s knees once I get feedback that brings me back down to Earth 😅 #Scriptsky

That is, until you sit down and enjoy a sunrise and realize that time is precious for other reasons, and everything’s going to be just fine.
January 15, 2026 at 4:31 PM
You can’t hold it against yourself to enjoy a sunset. You’ve already lived an entire life within a day.

But a sunrise? You’re wasting time. You have a whole world in front of you. The outcome of the day hinges on how smoothly the morning goes. One slip up—one wasted millisecond and the day is shot.

I’m calling this a “mullet sky.” Business in the front, party in the back.

I’m feeling festive, so here’s the first page and a bit for the only Christmas script I’ve written to date, a short called “WRONG MOTHER TO MESS WITH.” It’s still a WIP, and a little rough, but I loved writing Sylvie’s revenge story and will return to it one day #FirstPageFriday #Scriptsky

Hot Wheels #toyphotography achieved by only using items found around the house. In this case, a 2010 Toyota Tacoma diecast truck, some pebbles, some cocoa, 4 night lights and 3 cutting boards.

My new obsession.

“On his way up the corporate ladder, Ambitious Allister’s inability to say ‘no’ has put him in some rather peculiar positions, but ending up in the ring with a boxing legend for the entertainment of the executive team might take the cake.”
