Thanks for the conversation!

Thanks Jude!
November 25, 2025 at 10:30 PM
Oh yeah, forgot about that, that's a relief
November 25, 2025 at 5:51 PM
But... are we just gonna be looking at remixed version of 2022 content because no one can make a living on the internet and there's nothing new to scrape?
November 25, 2025 at 5:48 PM
Yeah, it's a total nightmare situation as an assigning editor! And probably worse if you're a new freelancer

She's literally everywhere, I cannot believe how many editors have said they were pitched by her since we published
November 20, 2025 at 6:03 PM
I will not concede the em dash to AI, this is driving me crazy!
November 20, 2025 at 4:32 AM

Yes, I have no idea how a new, unknown writer gets started in this business now, what a mess.
November 19, 2025 at 9:06 PM
Just gasped out loud here
November 19, 2025 at 8:14 PM
Yes, but you'd have to ask the editors that published and paid the writer. They didn't answer my questions about that
November 19, 2025 at 6:59 PM
exactly
November 19, 2025 at 4:16 PM
But here there was a long publication history at a bunch of reputable publications here! And also, I'll say that at The Local we WANT to take risks on new writers who don't have lengthy histories and can bring us new perspectives. Not sure how to do that going forward
November 19, 2025 at 4:14 PM
I honestly don't know how to work with new freelance writers when a good pitch is no longer any indication at all of the abilities of the person who sent it. A phone call is a start but... I dunno
November 19, 2025 at 4:01 PM
People know you're not a robot, Eva, you're fine!
November 19, 2025 at 3:54 PM
Jason, how is freelance journalism supposed to work right now? So depressing
