My job is to meet the smartest people on the planet and ask them what they’d like to rethink from the ground up, and also if there’s a good lunch spot nearby that they’d recommend.
If you need a moment today to dip out of actual reality collapsing, and indulge in a fictional reality collapsing, I highly recommend Assorted Crisis Events by @denizcamp.bsky.social

This month’s issue is beautiful, tragic, and a lovely homage to Understanding Comics by @scottmccloud.bsky.social

“Avengers: Doomsday” will be bullshit if they don’t make the 1986 Howard the Duck film MCU canon.

There are a lot of really great comics coming out lately, but this one of the best in a long while.

It’s like Dexter as a kid’s book, but still manages to make Dexter seem like a kid’s book by comparison.

In times like this, you have to ask yourself the serious questions, like:
“Should I stick with the paperback edition of The Anarchist’s Cookbook, or spring for the hardcover?”

@iwriteok.bsky.social - any advice?

Part of me wonders if Trump is so driven to acquire Greenland because it looks huge on a Mercator projection map. If we used a Mollweide projection, would he be fixated on Australia and Brazil?

Don't overthink the Trump admin's reasoning here. They don't have a grand scheme. They are willing to upend the international order because they think everyone else will be too scared to fuck with them. And whatever terrorist attacks this inspires against us will just help them electorally.

1. Maduro is not a good guy by any stretch of the imagination.
2. But capturing him through an extra-legal action that violates international law undermines any US credibility with Russia in Ukraine and China with Taiwan.
3. We have a terrible history with topping leaders without a post-war plan.

My wife is very good at growing plants and I am very good at killing them.

Based on that, one might reasonably expect I’d be excused from gardening duties -but, unfortunately, the ability to kill (unwanted) plants is actually quite useful in the garden.

My current nemesis is English Ivy roots.

My friend and I are starting a Podcast (I KNOW) about sci-fi books, and we want to include some classics of the genre that don't get enough love.

@aptshadow.bsky.social - we're both fans of your work, and would love a recommendation of a classic sci-fi book you think should get more attention!
