Different era. I’ve seen the hops where it seems majority move to a next/newer but hey it keeps those who code gainfully employed. I say this having played a part in moving a lot of the AWS services to a single unified tech stack. Not there yet even today but it certainly helps with code components.

Absolutely. Thanks for the reminder of this article. It reads even better the second time.

How would I go about building a feed, this UI isn’t intuitive. I was able to locate how to add existing feeds but not how to create my own feed (cough, it should be “filter” cough).

I use both plus other feeds in my navigation. I just went to the UX Sky feed and ..it’s got some UX in there but not really much. It’s mostly other stuff. I was just expecting UX posts to be more discoverable ..it feels like they punted surfacing relevant content to the user to figure out. 😔

I mean the main feed. It’s not pulling my interests at all. Like it’s just a bunch of everything everyone is posting.

So this is what the tubes of the internet look like… huh, less exciting than I would have thought.

Looking back on the early work around #Inclusion noted in this article, by people such as @nickf.bsky.social and Steven Champeon, it's a shame to think how little progress the wider industry has actually made in this area.

Stopped by BlueSky & I see this, and can’t agree more. I feel like posting about agism in tech & the myths around more senior talent (e.g. cost more, too dogmatic, don’t know new tools & techniques, etc). I want to implore people to diversify their teams & utilize the different levels of experience.
