Proud of being Canadian, a Reader, a Thinker, Ethical, Empathetic, a Veteran and Peacekeeper, and of being Canadian. 🍁🇨🇦✊🏽
I have a deep love for my country. Serving & defending Canada for 28 years I wore a uniform every day with a Canadian flag on my arm. To me, wearing a hat like this expresses pride in Canada and rejection of an outrageous insult to our nation.

He did it before & he’s volumes louder about it now. Nothing in his behaviour makes me think he won’t. Once he gets fixated on a dumb idea, he needs a lot of pressure to be talked down (remember his military parade lust?) & there’s no one there to talk him down this time.

We’ll find out in 4 days.

The tariff threats are very real & Canadian jobs, businesses & economy will be hurt - with his stated malicious intent. He has not streamed threats against North Korea or Iran like he has Canada in the past months, only his closest allies.

A guy with a MAGA hat & a Canadian Flag sewn over “America” sits with buddies having coffee every morning in front of my grocer’s for 7 or 8 years now. I can’t figure out if he supports the criminal-elect or was against his first tariff attacks on Canada. These hats at least make things clear.

A local Ottawa business run by two people. They supported a lot of other local shops run by small business entrepreneurs (Paper Papier is great for fountain pen enthusiasts). Embroidery done by small businesses in Concord Ontario.

After he sees how elaborate a state funeral is, he’ll be planning the biggest mourn-a-palooza since Kim-Jong-Il’s, & arranging for the Lenin/Kim embalmers to be on call to preserve his bloated corpse for display in a crystal sarcophagus in a Trump Temple for his cult to worship in perpetuity.

You forgot betray & gravely insult the US’ closest allies, surrender their sovereign territory or annex it, decimate their economies & illegally influence their domestic politics, while destroying all international trust & respect for the US.

I’m sure Elump will do what’s right for the safety of the US when they take the throne next month.

I’m also sure the sky is going to turn purple and rain Aero Peppermint Mini Bubbles.

I did hear… I think he passed away on 24 Nov. He was one of the good ones. 😔

I’m going to bed, but you can find tons to read on these things - both the costs and the opportunities. G’night. 🙂

for research & development of technologies for the future energy economy. If we don’t invest now we will be followers & buyers of others’ solutions instead of sellers. There are huge costs, but this is also a moment of great opportunity.

Regardless of contributing factors, 2% inflation would be right where BofC wants it. Climate change is the costing us tons more than just inflating resource prices. Drought, flood, fire, disaster relief, health care impacts, rebuilding, etc. Also consider the opportunity cost of ignoring funding…

StatsCan did in the 2023report. I just found another more recent estimate that climate change increases inflation between .3 and 1.3% per year. The impact of climate change dwarfs the effect of the carbon rebate program. No one likes paying a levee or tax, but climate change is the real problem.
December 2, 2024 at 5:34 AM
Impact on inflation, not contribution to inflation. Using the example if the inflation rate is 2% & the impact of climate change on it is 14%, it is contributing .28% to inflation, meaning more than an eighth of inflation is due to climate change. Without it inflation would be 1.72%.

Flump wants Canada to secure the US border from US people smuggling fentanyl into the US for them. Okay. Kind of the opposite of who is supposed to secure a country’s own borders, but if this is the new way, the US must take responsibility & stop the guns & drugs coming north into Canada. Right? 🤔

She probably wants to get out before he completes his transformation into the weasly unscrupulous mini-trump in charge of Canada’s conservative party, and could disastrously become Prime Minister next year if Canadian voters fall for his rage-farming lies. Get away while you can Ms. Pamela Hayden!
November 30, 2024 at 9:12 PM
Right - couldn’t fit that in my reply, which is why I typed “given military aid equivalent to…” because the aid is purchased before it is given, and the majority if US military equipment is sourced from US companies. That’s not an exception to my point, but an addition! 🙂

... & rewarding someone with no scruples nor honour, his disinformation, and his hate. You would think, with eyes wide open to what is happening to our south, that we would know better than to throw out our honour to satisfy manufactured hate. It will be a moment of national shame.

November 28, 2024 at 6:22 AM
Yes, this is the pattern & what I expect will happen, but it will be a departure in that Canadians will reward someone with no ethics. He supports the sustained torment of Canadians in their own homes, Canadian military members choosing which lawful orders to obey, & he has stated that he is...

Removing the Carbon Rebate program will have zero impact on people’s wallets or lives. It will put Canada behind when we should be all out in developing technologies to lead in the new post-carbon economy. Instead we will be followers buying others’ tech…
November 28, 2024 at 1:31 AM
A year ago Statistics Canada put the impact of the Carbon Rebate program on inflation at 0.18%. The impact of Climate Change on inflation was 80 times that. Then there’s the additional costs of responding to climate disasters like fires and floods etc.
