Pogacar is the main favourite, Visma will make his live hard with this team. The success of the team will also be influenced by van Aert’s shape.

Vingegaard is not a great stage hunter, “only” 4 stage wins so far. Van Aert in good shape however is always a contender on various terrain. Jorgenson could again try to support Jonas from the break to then try winning the stage, but it wont be the main goal.

Many experienced riders, no debutants. Visma wants to take no risk in this Tour. Contrarily to previous editions, van Aert is not as big of a green jersey contender to ask what the main goal of the team could be. The whole team stands behind one goal: Vingegaard in yellow

Benoot can do some work in the start of the mountains, Kuss is a top domestique; Jorgenson and Yates are one of the world’s best in mountainous terrain. And again, Van Aert can produce superhuman domestiaue work, even on the hardest climbs.

Vingegaard cannot ask for more.

Campanaerts and Affini are both riders that have their main qualities in flat terrain and can support Vingegaard.

While Van Aert wont be the main favourite for the sprints, he can still compete and is never a rider to be ignored. He is an experienced rider so he can take the right wheel in sprints or get support from Campanaerts/ Affini.

Vingegaard vs Pogacar. Thats the battle again. Having one main Tour contender and the Giro winner is a luxury situation for Visma while still having Paris-Nice winner Jorgenson. It is not unlikely for Visma to have three riders in the Top 10

They have great chances in the relegation battle if they keep up their work and farm as much points as possible. Interesting to see if their peak quality is good enough for the absolute best in the world.

Stages are the goals, maybe KOM for Champoussin, similarly to Fortunato’s role at the Giro. If they go into the break, they probably do it agin with multiple riders to try and escape the push of UAE, pretty depending on breaks to go all the way.

Relegation battle. That is the motivation for the squad. 4th most UCI points this year so a good vibe around the team riding the wave of success after the Giro.

The climbing team is stacked with solid quality: Tejada, Higuita and Velasco basides Champoussin to aim for the best possible stage results in multiple stages. Also good in Pro level but not the world class level of other domestiques.

Ballerini could be supported by Teunissen and Bol in the lead-out ahead of the sprint. Fedorov is also a good rider to help the leader in the stage ahead of that.
Far of the best lead-out riders however

Sprint leader could be either Teunissen or Ballerini. Ballerini finished second behind Meeus at stage 5 of the Tour de Suisse. It probably wont be enough for a Top 5 but maybe for a Top 10 stage result

Similarly to the Giro, the squad will probably try to achieve great stage results and therefore not have a GC leader. If they did, Champoussin could be a great choice as he finished in the GC Top 10 of the three World Tour stage race he started
