Only a 90-minute nap on Thanksgiving? I'm losing my touch!

It's only 2:45 in the afternoon, and I'm already full of food and ready for bed. It must be Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm grateful for so much, but your friendship and support are at the top of the list!

Wondering what to get your favorite author for the holidays? The answer is simple.

A review.

Authors like nothing more than to hear readers talk positively about their work--I speak from experience!--and nothing has the power to grow an author's readership like word of mouth. (1/2)

In a recent post on a writers' FB group, a librarian asked about a particular book topic and whether anyone knew of any recent titles that had been overlooked or didn't get much publicity... (1/2)

New acquisitions! I got them from an early Black Friday sale at Amazon. Each one was about $9!

Spooky science never dies!
Listeners of the podcast may remember the episode we did on Lazarus Syndrome (season 2, episode 7), where elderly people were pronounced dead only to seemingly return to life a few hours later, often to the great surprise of funeral home staff. (1/2)

R.I.P. Udo Kier, who was a working actor from the 1960s until the present day. I knew him from movies like FLESH FOR FRANKENSTEIN and his work with Lars Von Trier, but I've seen him the most as Dr. Frank Mandel in an uncredited appearance in Dario Argento's SUSPIRIA. A true legend.

Tonight I watched Jacques Tourneur's NIGHT OF THE DEMON (1957), based on M.R. James's classic story "Casting the Runes." I hadn't seen it in years. Previously, I'd only seen the shorter CURSE OF THE DEMON cut. (1/2)

I've been writing professionally for 25 years.

I've been a finalist for four different literary awards.

I've been an Amazon and B&N bestseller twice over.

I still get rejections, and they still sting.

All great episodes, for sure, but I'm sad to see two of my favorites didn't make the list: "The Masks" and "The Howling Man." 😢

The hotel we're staying at is bigger than a city block, has four different restaurants, and features a swimming pool roughly the size of the Empire State Building! Orlando is crazy!

So bummed to be missing the Indie Horror Book Fair in Ridgewood today, but I console myself with the fact that the weather here in Orlando is amazing. I hope everyone sells lots of books, and I look forward to attending next year!
