My dad’s view of The Giant’s Causeway: “worth seeing, but not worth going to see.”

Ahh Penny Vincenzi! I used to love her books when I was a teenager but she’d sort of fallen off my radar - back on it now!

Yes I think it must be so tricky if reviewing is part of your job because the reading experience is heavily mood dependent I think!

Can totally understand this!

Unrelated to this, Tara you are here! Hope all’s well with you and Carl! I spent quite a bit of time wondering whether I should incorporate “enbadden” into my daily vocab immediately (I love it and seems like it would just be so useful). Or should I go for the possible alternative “EMbadden”? Tbc.

Ahh yeah I can totally imagine that can feel v isolating. You must look me up if you ever come to Edinburgh!
September 26, 2023 at 11:39 AM
Yes I can imagine it must all feel a bit remote/ unreal sometimes? But at the same time maybe that’s good for your sanity!

Who know so many plays/ books/ films etc were really ‘a meditation on’ something or other?! Maybe ‘what happens?’ would be a better question than ‘what’s it about?’

Yes! I would have liked one more episode I think, all felt like it wrapped up v swiftly. Loved Christy Turlington especially, she just seems to have ended up totally sane which is probably no mean feat working in that world
