Reminds me of a Máirtín Ó Cadhain short story where it's said that the community in Conamara know much more about New York and Boston than they do Dublin or Cork

With my name, the problem is people are usually used to either English spelling with reasonably Irish pronunciation (Neil) or Irish spelling with English pronunciation (Niall /nye-ull/). Irish spelling with Irish pron is perfectly consistent with any other word spelt similarly.
