One ventured out for a couple of hours this afternoon locally, in the north of Bolton (Greater Manchester). Along the Eagley Brook one saw mainly common birds. Highlights though, included close-up view of a Sparrowhawk, a goldcrest, Eurasian Teal (Dunscar) and a Roe Deer

Yes, it is a female. I think the best way to tell the sexes apart is that the male has a grey tail whilst the female has a brown one
