Guilty Gear has always has VERY STRICT rules in place to prevent being able to do this, like making back- and forwards Heavy Slash normals completely unplinkable into FD. Them forgetting to apply this to Hover is a very uncharacteristic oversight.

aestethically hes by far the coolest cbaracter in the game to me so i wanna keep playing him, cuz he LOOKS sick as hell. dont think ill ever hard drop him but i think that i need to learn another character to really enjoy the game again at this point
