Sure. Media and activism are important but I'd thought that a key measurement of success for a politician is to change public opinion.

Shouldn't politicians be leading the debate? Especially if they are asking that question and understand that MMT explains how money works in the economy.

MMT recognises that there are no financial constraints on the govt. Question govt needs to ask before spending is not can we afford it but what affect the spending will have on the economy (inflation especially). Real resources (people, land,machinery etc) are the constraints.

Absolutely agree that we need to increase taxation on the rich. However, not for the reason you mention because taxes do not fund public expenditure. We're not reliant on the rich to spend more on public services. Read the Deficit Myth by Stephanie Kelton and then spread the word to your colleagues!
