We asked (and tried to answer!) many Qs: What can AI do for democracy? How do we resist techno-authoritarian control? What standards can ensure sustainable AI growth? How can nations govern big tech in uncertain times?

And, my personal fav from @ginasue.bsky.social, can democracy even survive AI?

It was a privilege to spend two days in convo with @audreyt.org, @safiyanoble.bsky.social and @rahaf.bsky.social – people whose efforts to build a just digital world I've long admired. And always great to connect with allies from @chathamhouse.org @bigbrotherwatch.bsky.social @tuc.org.uk and more.

Very proud of how our @mctd.bsky.social conference went this year! Lots to think about - and fight for - as academics, thinktankers, and policymakers figure out what do with a new world order.

Almost done with this very essential read from Facebook whistleblower Sarah Wynn-Williams and, whew… moving fast and breaking things is not it :/

“It was just that Joel, Elliot, Sheryl, and Mark didn’t give a fuck.”

South Island Takahe spotted last year in NZ!

They were thought to be extinct, but were rediscovered and now cared for in sanctuaries like Zealandia before being placed back in their habitats 🥹

The #birding #ornithology community on here is great! I’m on Birda too if you’d like to follow 🪶

Snippets from my visit to Barbican’s #exhibit of contemp Indian artists!

Lots of queer, feminist themes. Tranquil watercolours and stunning #photography.

They also give you a fun booklet to read as you go through the exhibit 🩷

Go see it! www.barbican.org.uk/whats-on/202...
