One day I'll go back to the Tenchi watching since I still got a lot and of course anything slightly related to the Masaki Kajishima universe. Orange circle ones are the ones I have yet to watch

Started Dual! Parallel Lunlun Monogatari and it's been real fun and cool, I think I have a big soft spot for stuff by Masaki Kajishima. Also just nice to finally see the source of the robot that appeared in that one episode of Tenchi Muyou! GXP near the end.

Super interesting show because it was so close to being truly Great. Brings up little plot lines that don't really amount to much and yet the big ones get handled really well, real good attention to detail in terms of setting up some things.

Reading the new Zatch Bell 2 chapter since I forgot when it first came out and what I love about the series, but especially the sequel is that they just love stacking shit so they shoot out the craziest attack. Feels very video game-y but in a good way.

Saw that a gacha game called Idoly Pride is having a To Love Ru collab(just announced) and it's sorta nice that old people franchises like that still get a time to shine with newer things (also the card art is pretty nice)

Maxed out the anime bingo since it only goes up to 7x7 haha

I don't think it's glamorizing it, hard for me to say it's straight up nationalistic, it does still feel bittersweet and yet it's giving me a nagging feeling, that maybe given more time and nuance it would have worked better, that it would say more.

Feels cruel because Ryuusaku is an ex-kamikaze pilot and he was given a chance, but Shoutarou hanging onto all his baggage could only find salvation and comfort in a borderline cliche sacrifice. Same deal with his mother barely surviving and having amnesia, forgetting her son's "shame".

It's almost like he went too hard into the idea of letting go of the past and looking confidently towards the future. Where there is no nuance and hope for those still hanging onto it all, not being able to move on into this new age. Feels almost cruel because we have Ryuusaku in the very same movie

Movie was pretty solid, but it's more of a neat little companion piece rather than building on what the TV series did. Definitely feel like it needed to be more harsh and concise while also not giving into some frankly rather lame tropes these kinds of stories often fall into.
