We owe it to our students, families, teachers, school board members, and administrators to find an inventive, lasting solution to properly fund California’s public education system. As leader of the CA Department of Education, I’ll work tirelessly to make that happen.

Today, I met with leaders from the San Mateo Building and Trades Council to share my vision for reimagining our public schools. We talked about the need to fund our schools fairly—and how real accountability and strong leadership are key parts of making that vision a reality.
