There seems to be a fixation with batteries for grid balancing that is misplaced. Globally, there will be 1TWh of battery storage by 2030, out of 120,000TWh energy demand
The EU plan is to import/produce 660TWh of #hydrogen by same time
Yet not much mention of this fact..

There seems to be a fixation with batteries for grid balancing that is misplaced. Globally, there will be 1TWh of battery storage by 2030, out of 120,000TWh energy demand

Actually, for example, here are my figures for annual renewables capacity additions that I forecast in 2021. My basic figure to achieve 60% renewables overall by 2050 was 730GW per year to 2050
This is going to be surpassed easily in 1-2 years, and at higher rates this 40% is quickly eroded
