I told my Spanish speaking co-worker that I use the word penultimate because it’s similar to the Spanish word penúltimo. But it’s not commonly used in English. He asked what people use instead and I said “second to last”. And he responded with a W.T.F.

For example, of course the good girl loves a bad boy and vice versa. Teachers literally use the good girls as buffers in classrooms.

So one of the parent’s chat I am in is 1/3 of the people saying “we are skiing at <resort> over Christmas, who else is there so we can meet up?” And another 1/3 of the parents are responding with “how can you just hurl yourself down a mountain? Too scary!” And honestly, skiing is kinda nuts.
