Agreed. NATO is there to help protect us FROM Russia and the like. If Russia doesn't attack a NATO country, Russia has absolutely nothing to fear.

The world allowed him to get away with it. There needed to be more done than a slap on the hand. A slap on the hand is all he got which emboldened him to take measures further, invading Ukraine once more.

Ceding land is a bad idea because it's a bad idea. Because Putin cannot be allowed to gain anything from the death and destruction he has caused. If he does gain, he'll want more. We didn't stop him when he invaded Crimea. Had we done so, this current war wouldn't be happening.

He didn't just "want" Ukraine to be a quick victory. He truly thought it would be. Had it been, he would definitely looking for more. The world should have stopped him with Crimea.

He wants nothing short of what he sees as the "glory days" of the USSR. Why else would he complain about more countries joining NATO? NATO is a DEFENSIVE coalition. The only reason he doesn't want NATO to expand is that it means fewer countries to invade.

Giving Putin even one inch of Ukrainian soil will only teach Putin that he can take what he wants. He might not get all he wants all at once, but he'll eat away at sovereign nations, bit by bit, bite by bite. Putin must leave Ukraine with NOTHING. It's the only acceptable solution.
